Polka Dots

I have been wanting a pair of polka dot denim forever! However, I don’t really like to spend my hard earned money. I am a sucker for a sale rack, or a thrift purchase but often that results in impulse buying and a bunch of stuff I don’t need or even like very much. I’m much better at that now… Anyway after a perfect steal of $8 for a brand new pair (tags & everything) of black skinnies from my local Goodwill I decided it was time to jazz up my old pair of super comfy black jeans. Here is how they turned out!

I forced my husband to take the picture of me. Yes this was taken in the garden… no clearly we are not professionals!

I hope you try styling your own pair of old denim… the possibilities are endless!

My life mostly consists of reaching craft blogs, even waaaaay before Pinterest was here, then trying everything I can at home. Often my projects fail, sometimes terribly. This is often is because I am impatient and skip steps…yeh yeh, I know, I’m working on it! 😉 But sometimes my projects are successful. Either way I enjoy the process and usually the end result. Here is a little DIY craft I had been planning to do for awhile. I LOVE how it turned out. I am planning to do an ombre one next!

Now my attempt…

Here is my, not-so-great picture of what it looks like when I have it on …

I can’t wait to work it into some of my outfits in the near future!

Bucket List

I have been thinking about this a lot recently. I keep track of my “dreams” in my head and very occasionally think to jot one or two down, but I thought I needed to finally start a list. This is will grow, a lot undoubtedly, and I maybe even remove one or two if I change my mind. But for the most part this is just a way to force myself to think seriously of the things I want to accomplish. So in no order at all, my brain doesn’t always work methodically, here is my current bucket list. I have included some of the things I have accomplished… this just makes me feel better… don’t judge me.

Hot air balloon ride with my love

Backpack through the Nepali Coast line in Kauai

See the lantern festival in Thailand

Go on safari

Swim in every ocean (or put my feet in at least, deadly afraid of sharks)

Back Pack through Europe

Work for/start a non profit

Visit New York at Christmas

Become fluent in sign language

Hold a lion cub

Visit all 50 US states

Live in a different country

Holiday in the Greek islands

Visit the Holy Land

Spend a day in Paris

Learn to cook

Visit the Taj Mahal done twice 😉

Ride an elephant

Learn French fluently

Visit Iceland’s Blue Lagoon Spa

Own a coffee shop

Get a degree

Well I think this is it for now…

Joshua Tree

Over christmas the husband I had 2 weeks off work! Bliss you say, well between mandatory holiday parties and functions and moving house it began to feel less like a holiday and more like a very long weekend of errands. Or at least the last week did. So we decided to take a very quick camping trip.

We took a quick trip to Joshua Tree, CA.

Here are some pictures from our trip, mostly just iPhone snaps. We also have bunch of Polaroids too – I’ll post them another time 🙂

Kenya 2012

Last year my husband and I had an opportunity to travel to Kenya with 41 (!) other people for 2 weeks! Traveling in such a large team was a new experience for me, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed that aspect. Sure the lines are longer, everything is louder, but you are never lonely.

The trip itself was incredible. We got loved on by hundreds of darling children all day, everyday. I just wish I had more hands to hold them with.

We spent the first day touring the Pangani Center where recently my friend and sister in-law-in-law, Dianna started a beauty school. She is currently back in Nairobi at the Pangani Center preparing her girls to graduate!

Read her blog about world change here: http: http://www.ladydianna.com

During our trip we were able to watch men and women from the slums go to skills workshops such as, sewing class, jewelry making, and most recently the beauty school to help transform their lives. We were able to see how monthly sponsorship of a child ensures an education, food and love in a safe and secure environment. We saw men and women baptized in front of their entire community proclaiming Jesus as their savior. We took VBS into a remote are of the Maasai Mara and told them about Jesus for the first time!

It was a blessing to go with Global Outreach from Crossroads Church.

Hello blogging world.

I’m a creative soul with a desperate need to travel and meet as many people as possible. This is the start to what will hopefully be a blog capturing my life while I travel, craft, eat, adventure and grow. I have been married to a humble, gentle, sweet spirited man for 2 1/2 years and I can honestly say it’s been the best 2 1/2 years of adventure I’ve ever had!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see more of you as we adventure together!
